Maybe I'm in the wrong place, sorry if I am.

I'm looking to start a Minecraft Club at the school where I teach, (a lot of students have asked me if it's possible). I'd like to do it for them, but don't really have experience running anything like this.

My biggest concern would be the ability to keep the game private. I've looked through the FAQs and around the website, but haven't found information about this. Is this possible with MCProhosting? Thanks :)

You could also get a copy of the Minecraft Education edition, if it's even still around. You as the teacher have complete control of what the students do. I don't really know much about it.

yea, but this is a club, not a class he can get it if the school will pay for it also I think they can only work on single player not multiplayer

edit: #1 it looks like you can't even get the education version anymore also it is ment for learning about things he just wants players to play.

Thank you. Do you mind if I ask what kind of things you guys do? I'm trying to come up with ideas for challenges and things like that. I had been looking at Realms, but it seems limited. I'm new to all of this but want to start learning.

    Thanks.
This is actually useful to me, as I'm also the computer teacher and tutor in math. I didn't even know this existed so I'm gonna be checking it out :) Looks like it would be useful for my younger students.

By keeping it private, do you mean restricting the users that can connect to the server?

You're able to turn on the server's whitelist, which would require anyone who plays on your server to be whitelisted.

Check out this knowledgebase article for more info on that.

Well how my school had it is the server had to be whitelisted. Also note this they will all ask for op that is what they did in my club that I'm in you might want to ask them what they want if you would like. I can pm you and walk you through how to do what they want the server to do.

If you do start a club at your school i recommend having permissions-ex plugin as you can limit the commands that they can do and plus like more trusted students could have a higher rank

Thank you everyone for your input. We've been testing and I didn't get any email notifications about the newer responses, but I appreciate the help. I just got the go ahead with the club so now it's time to delve in and start learning how to do this. Wish me luck!
