    Hello All,

I am currently in the process of purchasing a server here and I am planning on opening up 3 worlds on the one sever:

    Factions
    Skyblock
    Pixelmon

I am wondering what I should select from the list of game types for the server.

    Standard
    Snapshot
    Bucket
    Spigot
    FTB
    Technic
    ATLauncher
    Voids Wrath
    Sponge / Forge
    Pixelmon
    BungeeCord
    Halloween Packs
    PaperSpigot
    Plugin Packs

These are the possible choices please let me know which one I should select.

    Thank You,

    Brandon

When you're picking a server gamemode, make sure you ask people about their opinion and what servers are doing so you have a general idea of what gamemode nowadays gets the bigger playerbase.

As a previous server owner, I've learned that factions has sort of died out this year and Skyblock is the new thing now, not sure what the main gamemode of 2017 will become.

I've never been a modded-owner so I don't have any experience with that.

I would definitely recommend Spigot because it's the only one I've only ran with and all I know is it's good and beneficial for a jar.

So if you don't want to read my explanation above, I would recommend you choose Skyblock for your gamemode and Spigot for your server jar.

Thank you for your reply. I chose bukkit for my server is there a way to change it after it has been created?

Yes, you can change any feature of your server anytime you want.

You can do this by first going to your Multicraft Control Panel
Select your server if you have more than one.
Next to Server Type, click (Change)
Finally, choose the desired server jar type on the left, and then on the right choose the desired version.
Since most players prefer 1.8, 1.9, and 1.10, I would personally recommend choosing 1.8 and then installing ViaVersion which allows you to let players who are logged onto MC 1.9 & MC 1.10 into your server. The only bad thing is this will not allow players with 1.9 or 1.10 to place blocks or perform actions that do not exist after 1.8.

I'm not sure it's possible to have something like bukkit on two worlds and then a mod on one world?

So you don't think that I would be able to include pixelmon in my group? Should I replace it with something like Prisons?

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy a separate server for it.

Oh, Then I recommend maybe trying to find an original idea for a gamemode, If not, regular ones are fine, but this is all your choise.

Also, just for another tip, custom servers are very hard to land a playerbase. It's easier starting out with something generic like Skyblock or Prison, and then getting big that way and eventually adding gamemodes of your choice.
