I don't quite understand the difference between the two.
I want to install MCMMO, and also some other plugins.
    A vote plugin for example.
But i'm constantly finding that the plugins seem to come in two forms.
    Bukkit and Spigot.
    Can someone explain the difference?
I'm on spigot on my server now. Should i switch? What does it entail?

For example, Does this work with spigot or bukket?

Spigot is an extension of Bukkit. It is highly recommended to stay on Spigot, as Bukkit is no longer being updated and Spigot has enhancements that speed up your server.

Thank you for your reply. Ok i'll do that. Knowing what constraints i must work with really helps me search for the right plug-ins to make my end-user experience as good as possible. The better i make it the closer i'll get to my goals.

If you have any more questions about the difference between spigot and bukkit, please ask them. Also, if you have any questions in general, please make a thread about them.

ok will do, infact what immediately comes to mind is
    MCMMO

A fantastic plugin that makes the experience of MC more addictive and gives players the ability to set their own long-term goals.

I'm trying to find the spigot link.
It's a very important plugin that users really love.
I'm 100% going to attempt to install it soon, and i'm reading reports it has some compatibility issues with no-hack plugins as well. so i'm researching what works and is or is not compatible.
I can't seem to find the link to download the spigot version.

I am not sure about McMMO, but it seems as if they moved to being a premium plugin, something you need to pay to get.

I wouldn't mind paying for it, but not if it doesn't work past 1.8. Thank you for informing me!

Mark This as solved if you had your decision but mine is Spigot because its an extension on from bukkit bukkit is a very old server-side client which spigot keeps getting updated on a daily and is a lot better then spongee
